Information
After the Taihu Lake cyanobacteria water pollution incident in 2007, Jiangsu launched a pilot project of rural wastewater treatment in Taihu Lake area, and then gradually rolled it out across the province, and has achieved certain results. By the end of 2020, 11,000 administrative villages in Jiangsu province have built rural wastewater treatment facilities, and the coverage rate of administrative villages is 74.6% (the second largest in the country), an increase of 18 percentage points from 2019. As far as the whole province is concerned, the coverage rate of natural villages is 31%, and the coverage rate of rural households is about 30%.
